Projects

The Board of Commissioners has been required to develop a revised Plan of Reclamation; which is a future Water Control Plan. The District Engineers, Craig A. Smith Engineering, has been contracted to perform the services required. New surveys are being done to determine where we can best retain and store water, as well as determining what upgrades, cleaning, and expansion of our current canals are needed.

Once completed, the District will be applying for Grant Funds from the South Florida Water Management District to assist in completing the new water control plan.

Capital Improvement Program

The Board of Supervisors is in the process of developing a Capital Improvement Program for the District. The Board is considering such projects as a community center, fire station, upgraded parks, bike and golf cart paths, water retention and storage, widening and deepening canals, water and pump station upgrades, and several other projects. If you would like to share your ideas with the Board, please write or e-mail the District. Additionally, there will be a number of community meetings for the public to respond to the Capital Improvement Program suggested by the Board.
